Engineered wood consists of three layers of wood glued on top of each other. The top layer is 3-6 mm thick and is made of solid wood, giving your engineered parquet that classic wood feeling. However, compared to solid wood flooring, engineered timber can contract and expand more, making it ideal for underfloor heating. Besides, it’s more affordable and can last up to 30 or 40 years.

The top layer is 3 to 6 mm thick. A regular sanding will take about 0.3mm off the surface. So, you could sand engineered wood every 7 or 10 years, and it will still last you more than 30 years.
How to clean engineered wood floors?
You can clean engineered wood floors with a dry mop. Use a damp cloth only occasionally to remove stains. Half a cup of white vinegar in 2 gallons of water should be enough. Make sure you clean the floors regularly and avoid using too many toxic cleaning products that can destroy the veneer.
